Purpose of Department:
The Department of Sciences and Mathematics is dedicated to providing a quality education in order to prepare students for their chosen careers or post-graduate studies.
Summary of Position:
William Peace University seeks candidates for a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics beginning Fall 2024. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a desire to work closely with college students, an appreciation for and experience teaching diverse student populations, and an appreciation for being a part of a department that serves non-mathematics majors and the general education of students. We seek a generalist with experience teaching undergraduate, introductory-level college mathematics courses including algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, finite mathematics and introductory statistics. Additional responsibilities include student advising, service on campus-wide committees, and working with students outside of class.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Teach three 4-credit classes per semester (total 12 credit hours)
• Student advising
• Service on faculty and university-wide committees
• Maintain active professional development activities
• Work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and community members

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Mathematics
Preferred Qualifications:
• PhD
• Two years college teaching experience
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness
