About the Role:
The Associate Account Manager serves as a trusted advisor to Spreedly’s customers. They are growth-minded problem solvers who understand our products, digital payments, and the importance of building relationships. They offer guidance and support throughout the post-sale customer lifecycle and work closely with customer stakeholders to ensure customer success.
This role serves as an advocate for both the customer and Spreedly. They provide valuable feedback to product development while also championing Spreedly’s capabilities and features. They maintain relationships between customers and Spreedly, ensuring everyone is aligned with goals and objectives.
Associate Account Managers are responsible for managing a large book of business and must know how to balance their time between nurture and growth activities in order to drive the outcomes needed for customers and Spreedly. It is their responsibility to sell into the existing customer base, helping to expand Spreedly’s presence within customer companies beyond the initial use case. They identify growth opportunities and collaborate with other teams to maximize value for both Spreedly and the customer. They have a clear understanding of customer businesses and technical landscapes, allowing them to architect growth-oriented strategic account plans that they can execute against with the customer.
This role is open to candidates who currently reside within a commutable distance of our headquarter office in Durham, North Carolina, with the expectation of one to two days a week to be spent in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Communication and Planning - Regularly review clients’ business priorities and growth strategies to build account plans that ensure success in support of those strategies.
  • Retention - Protect and grow renewal revenues by ensuring that clients derive maximum value from their use of Spreedly.
  • Growth - Track clients’ growth projections against current usage and initiate contract upgrades in a timely manner.
  • Expansion - Continuously scour the book of business to identify expansion opportunities and capitalize on those opportunities by executing strong sales acumen and closing capabilities.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience working directly with customers
  • 1-2 years of experience in Sales, Account Management, or Customer Success consulting, customer roles, preferably at a payments tech company
  • Basic understanding of the digital payments industry
  • Demonstrated ability to help customers use products effectively and increase their satisfaction
  • Comfort communicating with different levels of employees, from executives to technical staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Basic negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Basic ability to analyze data and understand trends
  • Exposure to technology-based solutions
  • Interest in continuously learning about payment strategies and how they impact business growth
  • Exposure to working with technical customers, such as developers, using APIs for e-commerce support
  • Exposure to a growing SaaS tech company environment
  • As this role will primarily collaborate with colleagues and customers based out of the US and the UK, fluency in the English language, both written and spoken, is required
