Job Description
The University has an immediate opening for a Construction Project Manager. The successful candidate will serve as a member of the project management team responsible for the renovation of two historically significant building, Hermitage Hall and the Saint Augustine’s University Chapel. He/she will possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities in the area of construction project management with experience in managing commercial construction projects designated as historical landmarks. The qualified candidate will aid the University in fulling its mission to sustain a learning community in which students can prepare academically, socially and spiritually for leadership in a complex, diverse and rapidly changing world.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Associate Vice President for Facility Operations, Construction, and Risk Management, will work collaboratively with key university stakeholders for Hermitage Hall and under the direction of the Dean of the Chapel and clergy to meet predetermined project goals and timelines for Saint Augustine’s Chapel.
Responsibilities:
  • The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for the following:
  • The development of a clear and comprehensive project plan resulting in a successful and timely project completion in line with (NPS) National Preservation Standards.
  • To assist with the management and oversight of the bottom-line responsibility for project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, as well as ensuring safety and quality compliance throughout the project
  • Will collaborate with a team of professionals to develop and deliver on project scopes and schedules to achieve our client’s objectives
  • He/she will need to be driven, motivated and dedicated to providing superior customer service
  • Manage owner, designer, subcontractor and vendor relationships
  • Play an active role in driving the daily commitment to our Zero Injury Safety Program
  • Responsible for managing the project schedule, establishing budget and controlling costs
  • Implement the Quality Leadership System
  • Establish and maintain contact with subcontractors to ensure smooth working of the contract awarding process
  • Conduct/lead project meetings
  • Responsible for creating project-specific controls, monitor and report out to stakeholders
  • Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required
The Construction Project Manager position is a grant funded, full-time, temporary position with the opportunity to become full-time permanent. A percentage of the employee’s time may be dedicated to other university projects, as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, or related field strongly preferred
  • Experience with commercial construction projects is required. Experience with commercial construction projects designated as historical landmarks is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of total, progressive project management experience with a GC is required
  • Construction project management with a small liberal arts University
  • Renovating registered historical buildings up to several hundred thousand dollars
  • Applicable project management software knowledge
  • Experience in managing in a team-oriented environment comprised of professionals with diverse levels of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
