To tutor and instruct Halifax Co. UBMS participants during the 2022-23 Academic Component for a better understanding of mathematics subject matter.

Responsibilities:
To provide tutorial instruction in high school level mathematics. The Tutor should develop instructional objectives, which promote a better understanding of the subject matter to the student over a six-week period, unless otherwise instructed. The Tutor must communicate with the Tutorial Coordinator on activities, needed material/supplies, disciplinary issues and other concerns. The Tutor will schedule tutorial times along with the Tutorial Coordinator, along with other duties as deemed necessary from the Director and Assistant Director.

Saint Augustine’s University (SAU), drawing on its rich legacy as an access institution, is a student-focused, comprehensive educational institution that produces outstanding graduates prepared for personal and professional success. SAU was established in 1867 in Raleigh, NC by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. A four-year liberal arts university with an average enrollment of approximately 1,000, SAU sits on 105 lush acres just north of Downtown Raleigh, NC. The institution offers more than 20 undergraduate degrees and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Additional Information:

College graduate with at least three years of experience and preferably certified in subject area; and experience in teaching potential first generation college students.

The Tutor is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
