About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Cloud Database Engineer to join our fast-growing IT-project based consulting business. We are looking for a well-rounded team member with excellent troubleshooting skills who is adept at creating, updating, and Integrating database structures and writing complex queries and ETL processes. The Cloud Database Engineer will support the Department of Veterans Affairs central directory system that consolidates provider information from disparate sources and is used by multiple VA portfolios in maintaining the Community Care Network (CCN). This crucial role is instrumental in connecting our nation's veterans with healthcare providers.

Our Cloud Database Engineer will work with various data providers to Extract Data, create new and troubleshoot existing data integrations and ETL processes. The engineer will review reported data discrepancies, client requests, and business requirements then subsequently translate to technical specifications for implementation, effectively communicate technical solution details to non-technical business users and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write complex SQL queries for both Salesforce and Azure cloud data sources.
  • Regularly leverage Databricks for complex queries and ETL functions
  • Regularly create ETL functions with Salesforce and Databricks for use in reports and dashboards
  • Regularly analyze data to ensure accuracy, find discrepancies and root cause.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve various data related issues.
  • Analyze stored procedures and other database objects.
  • Review and resolve failures in various ETL processes.
  • Work with Report designers to validate data structures and ensure data accuracy.
  • Leverage various monitoring tools to troubleshoot ETL pipelines.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other stakeholders.
  • Develop or support innovative solutions to complex data problems.
  • Actively participate on an Agile-Scrum team to understand the business challenge, the definition of success, and the use cases.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in cloud and on-premise Microsoft database development and maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, and Databricks (ETL, Analysis, Optimization, and troubleshooting)
  • Experience integrating data via rest APIs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Data Lakes, Delta Lakes, and Parquet files.
  • Experience with troubleshooting data integrations and ETL processes.
  • Have excellent eye for detail, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate to technical specifications.
  • Ability to communicate technical details to non-technical users and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates will need to obtain Security Clearance of Public Trust once hired.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Salesforce data integrations and connectors.
  • Experience creating and updating Azure Data Factory Pipelines.
  • Familiarity with MDX and Power query syntax
  • Experience with Statistic Data and complex calculations.
  • Experience working with Federal agencies is a plus.
  • Military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Integrating Salesforce and Azure data.
