Primary Purpose of Position
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD, EdD) in health education, health promotion, public health, or a closely related field at the time of employment.
  • Teaching experience or demonstrated potential for success in teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Ability to engage in research and scholarly activities (e.g., peer-reviewed publications and research funding).
  • Expertise in one or more of the aforementioned areas.
  • Established record of research and scholarly activity.
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Previous health education/public health experience.
  • Professional association involvement.
  • Record of community engagement.
  • Public health or health education certification is desirable (i.e. CHES®, MCHES®, CPH).

Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation
