Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
To provide budget management and analysis to the university. To identify, interpret and resolve budget issues for administrators, departments and units throughout the university
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to analyze budgets, data and provide data entry for budget transfers and revisions. This position will also be responsible for managing the budget and administrative operation of the department. This position will manage the day-to-day financial transactions of the finance self service online budget process for the state, auxiliary and trust funds for departments throughout the university. The position will be responsible for operating, training and granting employee access to Finance Self Service transfer module. The position will provide daily financial management of student work-aid and stipend accounts. The position will provide financial management to university departments by providing budget analysis, budget problem resolution, processing transfers and generating reports. The position will also process requisitions, check request, travel and invoices.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate must posses a working knowledge of Banner Finance or an equivalent system; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications, knowledge of office and record management; knowledge of established governmental and department budgeting practices and procedures; knowledge of preparing fiscal reports and analysis of financial documents; ability to supervise and instruct personnel in the implementation of budget procedures and various administrative processes; ability to understand, interpret and apply the laws and regulations governing the maintenance of financial records; ability to independently manage a variety of business functions and various funding sources; ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgement and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; ability to work flexible schedules; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills; excellent editing skills; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment.

Position will need to manage several budgets across different fund types with different rules, regulations and polices. Must be a strong and effective communicator to advise campus constituents on status of budgets, policies and procedures.
