Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Julius L. Chambers Biomedical/Biotechnology Research Institute (BBRI) is a 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art research facility that is dedicated to expanding the University’s research capacity, particularly in the biomedical and biotechnology areas. The BBRI is a broad based multi-disciplinary research and training institute. The mission of the BBRI is to conduct multidisciplinary and inter-institutional research focused on health issues that disproportionately affect minority and underserved groups while providing students with research experiences that will enhance their access t o careers in the biomedical sciences.
Primary Purpose of Position
This is a new EHRA temp position. The RCHDR requires a Program Coordinator who will enhance population and behavior research infrastructure at NCCU.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A. Coordinate and provide administration for the day-to-day functions of the program
B. Manage delegated tasks for Program Manager
C. Coordination with complementary programs such as RCMI and Pfizer funded clinical research workforce grant.
D. The Program Coordinator position will plan, analyze and organize daily activities, manage data and perform business administrative duties.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Function Administrative
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Coordinate and provide administrative support to the RCMI Program Manager. Specifically, the Program Coordinator will work 40 hours/week to plan, analyze and organize daily activities, manage data and perform business administrative duties.
Function Research
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
The Program Coordinator will support the Program Manager’s efforts to ensure the progress of the various Cores and Projects of the Center. They will coordinate and provide administration for the day-to-day functions of the program; facilitate participatory community assessments and related research; facilitate action planning with local government partners; and manage communications with local stakeholders, public, and academic audiences.
Function Instructional
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
The Program Coordinator may supervise lower-level staff and assist with the Program Manager on delegation.
