Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational Unit

Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to assist and support the Law School’s registrar. The Law School’s Registrar’s office is responsible for the following: student records, academic transcripts, class registration, course rolls, enrollment verification, scheduling, testing, graduation certification, along with a multitude of other responsibilities.

In addition to assisting the Law School Registrar with all of the above, the Administrative Support Associate will be responsible for handling front office reception and administrative duties, including greeting students, answering phones, handling inquiries, and sorting and distributing mail.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of Student Banner or an equivalent system; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Applications; knowledge of office and record management; knowledge of planning special events and meetings;ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; ability to work flexible schedules; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills, excellent editing; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment.

High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

The person hired for this position will be responsible for handling front office reception and administrative duties, including greeting students, answering phones, handling inquiries, and sorting and distributing mail for the School of Law’s Registrar Office.

Maintain regular communication with the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure that announcements are disseminated to the faculty, staff, and students through the monthly newsletter. Generate emails that outline key dates related to drop/add, registration, testing, accommodations, and etc.

The person hired for this position will serve as the Administrative Support Specialist for the School of Law’s Registrar’s Office and provide full-time support the the Law School Registrar.

Duties
The person hired for this position will assist the School of Law Registrar with student records, academic transcripts, class registration, course rolls, enrollment verification, scheduling, testing, graduation certification, and a multitude of other tasks. Assist the Law School Registrar with long and short-term academic planning for the registrar’s office. Process all travel arrangements and payments for registrar’s office staff members.
