Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Julius L. Chambers Biomedical/Biotechnology Research Institute (BBRI) is a 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art research facility that is dedicated to expanding the University’s research capacity, particularly in the biomedical and biotechnology areas. The BBRI is a broad based multi-disciplinary research and training institute. The mission of the BBRI is to conduct multidisciplinary and inter-institutional research focused on health issues that disproportionately affect minority and underserved groups while providing students with research experiences that will enhance their access t o careers in the biomedical sciences.
Primary Purpose of Position
Public Health Educator #2: This is a new EHRA temp position. The RCHDR requires a Public Health Educator who will enhance population and behavior research infrastructure at NCCU.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge in Public Health, Public Health Education or related fields
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Public Health Education or related fields
Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Function Public Service
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
The Public Health Educator will coordinate the implementation of community health prevention and education activities through the RCMI Community Engagement Core, including the organization and collaboration with established workgroups and committees, technical assistance to strategic community partners, and implementation of community assessments.
Function Administrative
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
The Public Health Educator will handle any administrative duties on a needs basis.
Function Public Service
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
The Public Health Educator will host Public Health events on community prevention and provide educational activities. They will collaborate with other grants and NCCU faculty and staff in order to establish data for grant needs.
