Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate:
  • Must be efficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Access) Applications and Outlook utilized in the production of the various documents, reports, presentations and informative materials required.
  • This position requires the ability to interpret and apply operational, procedural policy during interactions with the full scope of individuals which visit and or have official business with the university.
  • This includes interactions with students, faculty, university administrators and staff, as well as external visitors (Board of Trustees, legislators, etc.) requiring the ability to advise and resolve questions, exercising appropriate levels to discretionary judgment.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • To take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion
  • To learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions
  • To exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow

Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative, executive and programmatic assistance to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Planning & Assessment. This position serves as a key member of the Office of Strategic Planning & Assessment which reports to the Chancellor’s Office and is responsible for the coordination of activities and communications that represent the division in the spirit of the Eagle Promise. Recently added duties and responsibilities include:
• Managing all campus-wide focus group processes for strategic plans, including training facilitators and recorders, ensuring that facilities for data gathering sessions are identified and compiling summary reports of focus group sessions to support the development and writing of strategic planning objectives, strategies and metrics.
• Developing and maintaining a project management chronology of all strategic planning initiatives and the design and layout for strategic planning documents as well as other design and print projects within the Office of Strategic Planning
• Independently coordinating and resolving internal and external customer and client base issues on behalf of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Planning & Assessment.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Planning & Assessment serves as an integral part of the Chancellor’s team and is critical to the campus-wide operations of the office of the Chancellor. This unit works closely with the Chancellor’s cabinet, the University Planning Committee and administrators in all units. The Office facilitates the development of the campus strategic plan, all division and college strategic plans and any strategic initiatives identified by the Chancellor.
Work Hours Monday - Friday 8-5
