We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager - Data Architecture, with a strong focus on cybersecurity. The Senior Data Architect Manager will be responsible for the design of secure and scalable data architecture solutions, to safeguard our organization’s critical information assets. Key responsibilities include delivering the GIS data architecture strategy, supporting the day-to-day needs of multiple data engineering teams, partnering with GIS Data Governance to influence data management best practices and achieve the highest quality data, as well as lead the GIS Model Management function in adherence to MRM policy.

The Senior Manager - Data Architecture will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data-centric security measures align with business needs and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data management best practices and have a proven track record of successfully implementing big data schemas and solving for high volume and complex data problems, in both structured and unstructured data. The ideal candidate can roll up their sleeves and help their team through very low-level data solutions and challenges, from prior experience as a data architect and analyst practitioner.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the data architecture vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
  • Manage the GIS model management governance routines and ensures all teams are plugged in and following the enterprise Model Risk Management (MRM) and adhering to MRM policy.
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models that accurately represent our data assets and enable efficient data access, analysis, reporting, logging, and monitoring.
  • Define data integration strategies and patterns to enable seamless data flow and interoperability across various systems and platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to the enterprise data movement, quality and accountability standards in technology, and established data governance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to recommend data security measures and privacy control to ensure gaps in controls are filled.
  • Collaborate with the governance team to develop data management strategies, including data profiling, data cleansing, and data standardization, data quality management practices to monitor and improve data quality and ensure consistent and accurate master data.
  • Ensures efficacy of data and information solution delivery, including prioritizing technology debt, compliance, and security items and supports application performance in production, including application health, resiliency, security, enterprise data management standards, global records management standards, and audit exams and reviews
  • Partners with various technology teams to establish data solutions and architecture for large, complex initiatives that align with the enterprise data architecture strategy and strategic technology and platform decisions
  • Manages multiple priorities in a matrixed environment with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Communicates effectively to influence agreement between partners and escalates items, as needed, to ensure execution activities remain on track
  • Manages relationships with business and technology partners and creates an inclusive and healthy working environment to resolve organizational impediments and blockers
  • Educates data management teams on enterprise data architectural principles, processes, and routines

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years leading technology architecture and/or engineering teams
  • 8+ years proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role with a focus on designing and implementing complex data architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of data management principles, data modeling techniques and data integration patterns.
  • In-depth understanding of data security, data privacy, and data governance concepts.
  • Hands on experience with data modeling tools (SAP PowerDesigner), database management systems, big data environments and ETL tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data related challenges
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • 8+ years’ experience in relational and dimensional data modeling as well as metadata build and management.
  • Hands on expertise in relational and NOSQL database systems. Strong SQL and Python skills a must.
  • Thorough understanding of real time, batch, and event-based data provisioning.
  • Hands on experience in ETL and API based data provisioning patterns.
  • Needs to be a skilled communicator with tools like Visio, PowerPoint, and be able to quickly put together and present ideas to large groups clearly and effectively.
  • Strong Excel skills experience working with large amounts of data, conducting analysis and present findings
  • In-depth understanding of Data Governance process – identify critical data elements, metadata, data lineage, data dictionary, data model, Data Sharing Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Data Management Standards.
  • 5+ years of experience with Data Quality measurements/Scorecards, Control, & Remediation along with Data reconciliation techniques.
  • Able to influence across organizations to achieve common solutions architectures and data solution designs

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Knowledgeable in Audit and regulatory concerns.
  • Experience with next generation tools and technologies is a plus (AI/ML, RPA etc.)
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or TOGAF are a plus
